TUF 10 Wrap Up

We watched the final episode of The Ultimate Fighter Season 10 last night and man, what a show it was! Here are some highlights.

Kimbo Declined a Second Fight

Our prediction was correct, and Kimbo was indeed offered a second opportunity to fight for the coveted UFC contract but he turned it down, wanting to give his injured knee more time to recover.

James McSweeny has Skills

Shivers vs. McSweeney, to put it politely, was not the greatest fight ever shown on TUF. Both fighters gassed early, and McSweeney's much touted stand up game looked pretty weak. McSweeney vs. Mitrione was a much better fight, with McSweeney winning by submission.

James McSweeney is a Dick

Man, were we tired of McSweeney's loud mouth showing up in the middle of every confrontation or argument, insisting he'd kick everybody's ass all season long. McSweeney solidified his position as a class A dickhead when he pushed Zak Jensen too far and then continued to demean him, taunting him with questions like, "Leave your room or what? What are you going to do?". Seeing McSweeney get taken out by Roy Nelson was pleasurable, but it would have been nicer if Mitrione had knocked him out.

Marcus "The Darkness" Jones is a Beast

The UFC's Heavy Weight Division is crazy, straddling the chasm from 206 to 265 lbs. Marcus Jones is one of the few guys in the house who's got the size needed to compete in a division like that, and he uses it well. He destroyed Schoonover with ease, using his long limbs to great advantage.

Brendan Schaub Means Business

This guy is calm, cool, and collected and does what it takes to keep the fight on standing up where he can use his tools most effectively. Mr. Schaub is an intelligent fighter who knows how to win.

Roy Nelson Continues to Coast

Roy Nelson won his matches easily, but will he find Brendan Schaub at the Live Finale such an easy fight?
